Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it last?

Our top tier solar panels are warrantied for 25 years, but they can continue to generate electricity beyond this period. Solar panels lose about 0.5% of their efficiency annually, meaning after 25 years they can still be producing at around 85%.

When do I start paying for my solar system?

If paying cash for your system, there are payment milestones in place that will be pre-determined in the contract. For financed systems, first payment is typically 1-3 months after installation depending on the financier. The loan term can be spread from 5-25 years.

How do I get the solar tax credit?

As of 2024, the ITC provides a 30% tax credit for the cost of the solar system (including installation). File IRS Form 5695 (Residential Energy Credits) along with your tax return. This form will have the needed information to maximize your tax credit. It is always good to consult a tax professional if there are more questions.

Will I have power when the power goes out?

Just because you have solar doesn’t mean you will always have power. Every system is different. You must have some sort of storage or bypass to have power from a solar system when the grid goes down.
